Originally developed by participants in the the King's Parliamentary Research Internship, this resource supports researchers and professional services staff to engage with the House of Lords on topics of significant public interest through providing an understanding of the Lords processes and how to embed policy engagement into research.
The guide below is split into seven sections reflecting the key elements of successful engagement with the Lords, and policymakers more generally. Each has advice, models and links to resources that will help you get the most out of engagement with parliament, particularly the vital processes that take place in our second chamber.
We would like to thank Dr Monica Leverton and Dr Tanya Graham, in their roles as King's Parliamentary Research Interns, for all of their work in researching, developing and drafting the content of this guide.
