Our connections

The IoPPN’s world-class research and teaching is supported and enhanced by our strong partnerships with NHS Trusts, industry and healthcare organisations.

We work closely with King's Health Partners, the South London & Maudsley, King’s College Hospital and Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trusts. We have many local partnerships in our South London community, with initiatives that go beyond the traditional roles of education and research, and contribute to the vibrant and thriving communities of which we are a part.

In particular, through our close relationships with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and King’s Health Partners (King’s College London and our four partner NHS Trusts), we have established strengths in mental health (research and practice) with more highly cited outputs (top 1% citations SciVal) in mental health than any other centre internationally and 29 of our academics in mental health/neuroscience are Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (2024).

A significant proportion of research at the IoPPN has an international focus and we are dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, learning and understanding in the service of global society. We are a truly international academic community made up of staff and students from all over the world and are proud to have a wide range of research collaborations with institutions across the globe.

We are also proud of our involvement in artistic collaboration and co-creation, as we seek to explore unique routes in understanding and explaining how the mind and the brain work, and inspire our networks of researchers, scientists, students and participants.
